New This Week

Attention 3rd, 4th and 5th graders
Walk and roll to school day: helpers wanted

If your child would like to help out with the walk and roll event on Wed Oct 8, please have him/her stop by at one of the three traffic safety tables at the school entrances at 8:05 am on Oct 8. He/she will be helping give out hand stamps and collect walk and roll pledges from arriving students till the first bell rings. As a thank you, we will announce his/her name at assembly. Questions? Contact anjani.sarma at gmail dot com

Palo Verde’s 10th Annual Walk-a-Thon was a success thanks to YOU!
The Palo Verde students, teachers and staff sure do know how to WALK ON.  And the Palo Verde community sure does know how to show support.  We raised over $4000 while exercising and having fun!

Thank you to the students, teachers and staff for participating and supporting this event!
Special shout-outs go to:
Yael Pasternak Valek for co-chairing this event!
Mary Ann Norton and Jenny Hsiung for answering our questions and pointing us in the right direction as we tried to figure out the logistics of the copier and process of the paperwork!
Carlos Valencia Verduzco and Jose Medina for setting up the tables, helping us with hanging banners and cleaning up our paint mess!

The volunteers on the day of who got the event up and running, kept the event running smoothly and cheered everyone on. . . Lisa Baxter, Liliana Kunze Briseno, Carleen Ho, Emily Jaquette, George Jaquette, Mala Joshi, Kala Lansberg, Esther & Kristen Lee, Lili Nova-Roessig, and Haliel Selig!

A show of gratitude and appreciation all around!
Thank you!

eNews Editor Needed

eNews is a critical part of keeping our Palo Verde community stitched together.  Producing it is also a weekly job and having more than one parent helping would be wonderful.  Are you a parent who wants to volunteer but has trouble being at school during the day?  If so, sharing the eNews responsibility with our other parent currently doing it might be a great fit for you.  Please contact ebreuner at gmail dot com or send and email to paloverdevoice at gmail dot com for more information.
