Art Night at Palo Verde, MP Room

Tuesday, January 27th 2015, 6:00 – 8:00 PM

Come join us for the 2nd annual Palo Verde Art Night, designed to draw out the artistic spirit in both children and parents.  There will be several fun activities sure to ignite your creativity.   Volunteers needed to assist with the activities. Palo Verde Auction & Social

The annual Palo Verde Auction & Social is coming up on Saturday, March 7th and we’re looking for parent donations to make the event really sparkle. Parent donations – including contributions of items, unique skills, and fun parties (for families, kids and parents) – highlight the remarkable nature of our Palo Verde community, while raising funds to support valued PTA programs. Please consider donating a party/event, special skill or item to the 2015 Palo Verde Auction. Partner with some friends, think about your unique skills and/or contribute a donation from your work. Return the form that was distributed in the January 9th Friday folder OR email your donation information to pvpta.auction@gmail.com. Thanks for making this year’s auction the best ever!

Coming Soon – 3rd through 5th Grade Production of “Treasure Island”!
3rd through 5th Grade Parents, please mark your calendars for the Parent Information Meeting at 8:15 a.m. in the MP room on Thursday, 1/22 to learn more about the partnership between Palo Verde Elementary School PTA and the Palo Alto Children’s Theatre to stage a production of Treasure Island. The Children’s Theatre comes to our school every other year to give kids this unique performance experience. All 3rd through 5th grade children that want to participate will be able to participate, either on stage or as a crew member. Auditions will be held in early February, with rehearsals running up to the performances in late March. Please come learn more about this enriching theatre opportunity right here on our school campus. Girls Softball – Register by January 20th!
Nineteen Palo Verde girls played softball last year as part of Palo Alto Girls Softball’s spring recreational season and we’d love to have even more this year!  It’s a league for all levels, 5-15.  Everyone plays.  Starting with t-ball for the 6 and unders, it’s a safe and fun environment to learn softball.  The season runs March 7 – May 16.  Register now at http://www.paloaltogirlssoftball.org/

The 19th Annual Juana Run Registration is Open

Hear This! Exhibition to Explore the Power of Sound

What is the sound of art? The Palo Alto Art Center will attempt to answer that provocative question through its upcoming exhibition, Hear This!,. Hear This! will present works by five contemporary artists who employ the power of sound in artworks that explore perception, the passage of time, and nostalgia.
