Friday, September 5 . Donate at papie.org
or by filling out a form in the school office. Thank you!

The deadline for placing orders is coming up soon on September 26. If you would like to take a look at samples, please stop by the school office. There are some on display there.

Time for Fun, Time for Community – 4th Annual Fall Party Book
The Annual Fall Party Book is back – and time for you to put your own unique spin on it! Help us continue this special tradition by donating a fun fall, winter, or holiday-themed gathering for kids, adults, or families.
The Fall Party Book offers a slate of fall and winter gatherings, focused on building our community through fun activities and parties while raising money to support the Palo Verde PTA. Parents host social, creative, or cultural gatherings sometime between 10/24 and 2/28. Then, at the annual Harvest Fair, everyone in the Palo Verde community has the chance to purchase tickets to the events with proceeds going towards PTA programs.
Memorable events last year included the kids’ Clash of Clans Party, Kinder Halloween Donuts & Coffee gathering, Moms & Margaritas outing, Party Like a Pop Star, Wine/Food Pairing, Swedish Glogg, Chinese New Year Dumpling Party, Holiday Crafts Party, Gingerbread House Construction Party, Octobeerfest, White Elephant Party, and so much more.
If you would like to donate an event, send an email to the Fall Party Book Team (Iva Reid, Rebecca Thompson, Callie Turk) at pvfallpartybook (at) gmail (dot) com. Deadline for party submissions is Monday, 9/22.

Sheryl Sandberg & Marianne Cooper Talk: The Anxieties of Modern Families
Tue, Sep 9 2014 – 6:30pm, The Castro Theatre, 429 Castro St., San Francisco
In an increasingly insecure economy, it’s easy to get bogged down with statistics and lose sight of the human costs of the recession. Hearing from everyone from suburban soccer moms to those struggling to feed their children, we’re given an intimate look at the challenges facing modern families. Whether it’s the wealthy seeking even stronger security or the poor trying to avoid further instability, Cut Adrift gives us a glimpse of changing gender dynamics and how families are coping in a go-it-alone economy. Hear Cooper in conversation with Sheryl Sandberg, as they unpack the worries all American families face and brainstorm what can be done about it.
