Palo Verde PTA and School News
It is time for Annual Data Update

The 2014-15 school year is right around that corner.  That means that it’s time to update emergency and health information for all PAUSD students. All students’ information must be updated each year to ensure that the district has current information: emergency contacts, health conditions, and healthcare providers.

This must be completed by 05/16/2014

To complete this process, you will need to access your PAUSD Parent Portal account with your username and password by going to this page:

https://ic.pausd.org/campus/portal/paloalto.jsp

Restaurant Night – Sancho’s Taqueria

Please plan to enjoy some authentic Mexican food at Sancho’s Taqueria (2723 Middlefield Road) on April 23rd and 24th

Sancho’s will donate 15% of your order to our school. Purchases include dine in, take out and beverages.

The Palo Verde Science Fair is coming next week on Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 pm
We hope you are all having a great time working on the projects.

Please bring in your completed  projects to the MP room on the morning of the 29th before school (7:50 am to 8:15 am). Do not forget to have your name and grade on the front of the poster. Note that expensive or fragile items should not be displayed, use a photograph instead.

We need volunteers on the morning of the Fair from about 8:00 am to 8:20 am to help with the sign up and the table set up when the students are bringing in their projects, and from about 8:20 am to 8:50 am to help with the participation ribbons.
Please drop a mail to pavand (at) gmail (dot) com or philip.bednarz (at) stanfordalumni (dot) com if you are able to help.

The May Fete Float Construction

We are meeting on Saturday April 26 at 1 pm  in the school MP room to put finishing touches to the Palo Verde May fete float. There is something for everyone to do. There will be tasks such as glue gunning or cutting cardboard for adults and kids will help create warm fuzzies, color, decorate and glitter up the float. We would appreciate as much help as possible. Stay for as long as you want.

Please note that this is not a drop off as there will be no supervision.

We need lots of leaves for the  ‘Palo Verde ‘ on the float. In your
Friday folders from last week, please find a color paper with leaf
cutouts. Write a fuzzy gram, color it, glitter it and drop it off in
the bin marked May Fete by 04/25. If you would like a copy please find it here.

We are looking for a new May Fete chair for the next year. If you are curious about what it takes, this is the best time to come on by and check it out.

The 8th Annual Talent Show is coming – Volunteers needed!
We are very excited that our Talent Show has so many eager participants this year!  At least 80 hopefuls are going to come to the screenings this week!

To be able to run the Talent Show however, we need volunteers – otherwise we will have to cancel the show!  (That would be very sad!)

The Talent Show is on May 6th,
The Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Graders will have a show at 8:30am,  Grades 3 – 5 will have a show at 10:30 am

We need 6 parent volunteers to help with each show (so far we have about 3 for each!)  Please let us know which show you can help with.  You are also very welcome to help with both shows!  Thanks in advance!
