Science Night at Palo Verde, MP Room
Sponsored by the Palo Verde PTA
Tuesday, March 18th 2014, 6:00
-7.45 PM
Come join us for Wizard’s Lab:
A ball floats and spins in midair, fingers pass through a seemingly solid object, words whispered into a metal can are heard over 10 feet away – these are just a few of the weird, wondrous, hands-on exhibits found in the Wizard’s Lab! As “science wizards,” students explore the almost magical properties of matter and energy, participate in high-voltage and subzero experiments, and figure out how things really work in the fun-, fact-, and phenomenon-filled world of physics.

Volunteers needed to assist with the activities. To volunteer, please contact Theivanai Palaniappan at theivanai_p (at) hotmail dot com by Friday, March 14th.

Restaurant Night  March 26, 27
Please head to Indochine (2710 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto) on March 26th or 27th for some great tasting Thai and Vietnamese food while socializing with the other Palo Verde families. 15% of the gross receipts from Palo Verde families will be donated to our school.
Flyers will be sent out soon in the Friday folders.

Thanks for your support in the past fundraisers. We look forward to your continued support in making our school even better!

The May Fete Parade is Coming and We Need Your Ideas For This Year’s Float.
Palo Verde students have given us amazing ideas for our beautiful award winning floats. (four times in a row I must add). We are excited to announce that it’s May Fete time again. This year’s theme is ‘Let Me Be Your Neighbor.’
We are looking for you child’s ideas on how Palo Verde Elementary is our neighborhood community where people care and connect with each other to create a great caring community. This will be a great time to encourage your child  to think about all he has learned from the project cornerstone readings and use that as the basis for his idea. Or he could think of something else that makes Palo Verde Elementary such a great neighborhood.
The best idea selected by our judging panel will be used for creating our float and our banner. The float winner’s name will be also be announced three times during the parade on University Avenue and he/she will be the first one to pull the float. Students may work in groups.
Float and banner entries can be in the form of drawings, or creations with paper, clay or other objects. Be sure to have your child write his/her name and room number.  All entries must be received in the office by Monday April 7
