We Need Your Help to Update the Palo Verde Directory!

The Palo Verde Elementary School student directory is a valuable communications resource that contains contact information enabling the school staff, PTA, Site Council and parents to communicate with one another regarding school or class information. The directory is published exclusively for the convenience of school staff and families. We would like to publish the directory as quickly as possible and we need your help.

Returning Families:

Please confirm or update your family’s information. PTA will have a table, out by the reading garden near the principal’s office, on Back-To-School night. All you need to do is drop by and confirm/update your information. Can’t make it to school?  Please email Lili Nova-Roessigs at roessig4@yahoo.com and let me know if your information has stayed the same or needs to be updated.

New Families:

Please add your family’s contact information. PTA will have a table, out by the reading garden near the principal’s office, on Back-To-School Night. Unless you provided and authorized information to the District when you enrolled your child, we will not be able to include your family’s contact information. Forms will be sent home in your child’s Friday folder if we haven’t heard from you. You can also pick up blank forms in the office.

***All directory forms are due on

Friday, September 16 & can be returned at the school office. Please email Lili Nova-Roessig at roessig4@yahoo.com if you have questions.***

 Welcome Back Social and Potluck

Please join us for our first evening social event of the school year. It’s time for Palo Verde’s annual International Potluck Social. It’s a great chance to meet new families, reconnect with friends you haven’t seen over the summer, and sample a variety of delicious items from our diverse community. Please bring a main dish or side dish to share and your own reusable plates, cups and utensils from home to help us reduce waste and expenses. PTA will provide drinks and dessert items.

Mark your calendars for Friday, September 9th, 6-7:30pm.  See you then!

If you are willing to help with the event, please contact Heather Schultz, hschultz(at)hotmail.com, 424-8380.

Palo Verde Annual Walk-a-thon

Mark your calendars!  Palo Verde’s 7th annual Walk-a-thon is Friday morning, September 16. Look for information and a donation form in your child’s Friday folder 9/2. Email Lauren Aspegren at msboot@yahoo.com with questions. WALK ON!

Feeling Social or Creative? Donate a Palo Verde Party!

One of the most popular components of Palo Verde’s Spring Auction is the opportunity to purchase a spot – for your child or yourself – in one of several unique social and creative gatherings hosted by Palo Verde parents.  Palo Verde children benefit from the funds raised, people have fun, and our community grows stronger!

Memorable events last year included a Bollywood Dance Party, a Stomp Rocket Party, and a Progressive Fiesta Dinner.  A Sushi Rolling party had an eight-year run and the Steaks and Stakes Poker Tournament is headed into it’s fifth year as a Palo Verde auction tradition.

For 2011-2012, the Palo Verde PTA plans to debut a “Fall Party Book” with a selection of social and creative gatherings timed for enjoyment in the fall and winter months.  Pumpkin Carving party anyone?  At the October Harvest Fair, you will have the chance to purchase spots for Party Book events. The Fall Party Book is designed to complement the Spring Auction gatherings and spread events a bit more evenly throughout the calendar.

Help us debut the Fall Party Book by donating a fun fall, winter, or holiday-themed gathering for kids, adults, or families.  Let’s have a ball this fall!

If you would like to donate an event – for either the Fall Party Book or the Spring Auction – contact Rebecca Thompson: rebeccaherrema@hotmail.com
