Palo Verde School and PTA News
From our PTA President…….
Dear Palo Verde Families,
September and October are Emergency Preparedness Months for the City of Palo Alto, the Palo Alto PTA Council, and PAUSD. Although these decisions were made some time ago, they seem very prescient given the recent catastrophe in San Bruno. I know that I was once again shaken into asking myself, when am I going to finally organize my disaster supplies in the garage? We make our entire community stronger when we prepare ourselves individually. Ask me in a couple months, if I’ve organized my emergency supplies yet.
While large scale tragedies certainly capture our attention, I want to let you all know that the PTA Caring Committee exists to help Palo Verde families coping with personal crises. In the past our Caring Committee has helped provide meals, school transportation, and moving assistance to families in the midst of medical emergencies or loss of home due to fires, etc. Often family friends are the first to learn of a crisis and report the need to the front office staff who then contact the PTA. If you learn of a family in need, please let us know.
With warmest regards,
Dining for Dollars
